Isa Luengo

Guadalajara, 1993

Isa Luengo is a film writer and director. She majored in Fine Arts at UCM, and later received a Master's degree in Creative Documentary at UAB and a Master’s degree in Screenwriting at ESCAC, through a fellowship from Netflix and ESCAC.

Recently, she co-wrote and co-directed the narrative short film PERPETUA FELICIDAD (Eternal Happiness, 2022), produced by Aquí y Allí Films, and was a candidate for the 38th Goya Awards. She is also co-director of the documentary short film LA CIUTAT INTERIOR (2017), which premiered at IDFA and was selected for Guadalajara Film Festival, Malaga Film Festival, and Beijing International Short Film Festival, among others.

She has recently co-directed the documentary short film GAPS (Els buits, 2024), produced by Nocturna Pictures and Vayolet Films, which is currently starting its journey through festivals. She is developing LOS ANDARES, her next narrative short film, selected in the script labs Acció Curts (Dones Visuals), Queercinelab (Fundación Triángulo), and Semilleru Lab (Gijon International Film Festival), where it won the award for projects in development.

Isa is co-creator of @la_calumnia, an independent research project on LGTBIQ+ genealogies in film, in which she teaches workshops and classes in different institutions, including the Spanish Cinemathèque and the Master's Degree in Gender and Communication at the UAB.
